Bonds

Gwyndlyn - Mistrust [1✦]

Jurisdiction is drawn to Gwyndlyn out of a strange sense of familiarity, which has enabled her to be the first person able to wield Jurisdiction's core. Unfortunately, she has yet to prove herself in battle, so it cannot fully trust her as a comrade in their quest for revenge.

History

Yuris Dicllon was born from a seed of the World Tree, long before any recorded history. It was the primordial spirit responsible for the element of fire, and created the landmass known as Tect'Syir by utilizing geothermal energy in an a excessive and explosive demonstration of power. She held residence in the heart of the island's primary volcano, where she enjoyed the perks of being worshiped as a nature deity, but was otherwise ambivalent to the lives and ambitions of non-spirits.

Character Questions

Xiphosymbiosis

  • How were you created?
    • I was the primordial fire spirit at the heart of Yuris Dicllon, a massive volcano forming the landmass of Tect'Syir. A wizard climbed to its peak and formed a pact with me to grant them the power to forge what they claimed would be the most powerful weapon in the world. Once completed, they warped our pact to trap me in its core as fuel. I hold the deepest resentment towards them for this.
  • Do many like you exist?
    • The nature of my creation is such that another weapon like myself cannot exist, and if someone were to mimic such a process I would see to it that they were destroyed.
  • Is this your first wielder? Who did you refuse to join forces with?
    • My creator underestimated my power when they tried to wield me. I would never align myself with someone who has betrayed my trust so fully, regardless of their intentions. I do not wholly trust my current wielder, but I am amused by her attempts to appease me. She's familiar, somehow...
  • Do you crave freedom?
    • Naturally. This form is far inferior to that of my spirit form.

Darkblade

  • What tragic experience awakened your abilities?
    • Being robbed of my autonomy and spiritual connection was rather traumatic. Rather suddenly, I was alone and in the dark. There had never been a darkness I could not ward away with my own power. But it was not my own power. I thought I had been alone before, when I had lost my family, but I had still been able to feel Mother's love. Now there was nothing to fuel me but my own feelings... (cont. Fury Question 1)
  • ŠMany would regard your powers as evil. How do you feel about them?
    • My anger is righteous and therefore so are my powers. Let them nay-say. History is written by the victors, and I am always victorious.
  • ŠWhat do your weapons and fighting style look like?
  • ŠAre there many practicing your art, or are you the exception?

Fury

  • Do you rely on your burning passion, or do you strive to keep it under control?
    • [...] There was nothing to fuel me but my own feelings. So anger became my fuel. I consumed it, and it consumed me, and now I cannot tell myself apart from my anger.
  • ŠThere’s that one thing that always makes you lose it. What is it?
  • ŠIn the past, your lack of control had tragic consequences. What have you lost?
    • Previously I had a close relationship with the other primordial elemental spirits, my sisters. We had a falling out as a result of my temper, and I have been sequestered away in Tect'Syir since.
  • ŠWhat do your weapons and fighting style look like?

Guardian

  • Who or what is it you would gladly give your life to protect?
    • I would do anything to rescue myself from imprisonment. After that, I suppose I can honor my contract with Gwyn by keeping her alive.
  • ŠAre you, or have you ever been, the servant of a Lady or Lord? What were they like?
    • No. I am a god and I answer to no one (except maybe Mother, but she doesn't call.) The princess serves me.
  • ŠWhat is it you were unable to protect? What have you lost?
    • I lost my family due to my anger, my autonomy due to my hubris, and my nation because of my guilelessness.
  • ŠWhat are you using as your armor and/or shield?
    • My projected form has dual blades that I use for defense. (Also, the princess.)
